The exercises with the metronome are fantastic. I honestly feel exactly how Jared says he does in this video, that it makes him want to immediately jump in his kit.
This is gonna be something I’m gonna study a bit. Playing with the metronome on the upbeat is something I’ve done before and I’ve always found it gives my ear the impression that is should be funky.
